Carduso Capital invests in innovative technology companies that have strong technology links with the University of Groningen (UG), the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) and its affiliates. Their investments can both be categorized as early stage spin-offs and start-ups as well as established companies expanding on technology knowhow, research and skills of the institutes.

They support initiatives within the main themes of the institutes, Life Sciences/Healthy Ageing, Energy and Sustainable Society and aim for long-term cooperation’s. They envision facilitating multiple investment rounds alone or together with other co-investors and assist the entrepreneurs in realizing their plans as well as an attractive return to the investors in Carduso.

They invest in companies based in the Groningen region in the northern part of the Netherlands with products and services that meet clear and unmet easy to understand needs, based on conservative plans, scenarios and realistic assumptions. Inventions of early stage companies, start-ups and university spin-offs must have finalized a proof of concept and preferably demonstrate a workable prototype.

Carduso Capital investment strategy is formed in several stages and, depending on the proposition status, starts at a €100K investment and stretches out to a total maximum of 5.000K per initiative.

Carduso Capital has raised a total of €31M in a single venture fund, Carduso Capital Fund I. This fund was announced on Jun 13, 2016 and raised a total of €31M.
