High-Tech Grunderfonds specializes in investments in seed or startups, early venture, seed capital, and mezzanine financing.

As a seed investor, HTGF has already financed 690 start-ups in the areas of industrial tech, digital tech, life sciences and chemistry. They have implemented more than 160 exits, including IPOs. 

As a public-private partnership, they work closely and successfully with companies from a wide variety of economic sectors. Their more than 40 fund investors include medium-sized companies, family businesses and corporations. They offer you access to innovative start-ups and technologies, insights into the deal flow and contacts in their international network.

In the seed round they invest up to €1 million. In total, they can invest up to €4 million in a startup. High-Tech Grunderfonds has raised a total of €1.3B across 5 funds, their latest being High-Tech Gruenderfonds IV. This fund was announced on Jun 14, 2022 and raised a total of €400M.

Investment criteria

- The company must be a high-tech start-up that is active in digital tech, industrial tech, the life sciences, chemicals or related fields

- The company must be no more than three years old (entry in commercial register or equivalent)

- The company must be headquartered in Germany or – in the case of start-ups from other European countries – has a German base of operations.
