ITEA

ITEA is the Eureka RD&I Cluster, dedicated to driving innovation in software and systems. Their programme and community support a domain-agnostic digital transition through funded applied R&D projects aiming for impact. ITEA projects integrate advanced technologies from various fields and focus on deploying those in combination with innovations in the software and systems domain to develop novel integrated solutions, products and services.

It is the Eureka RD&I Cluster on software innovation, enabling a large international community of large industry, SMEs, start-ups, academia and customer organisations, to collaborate in funded projects that turn innovative ideas into new businesses, jobs, economic growth and benefits for society. It is industry-driven and covers a wide range of business opportunities facilitated by digitisation like smart mobility, healthcare, smart cities and energy, manufacturing, engineering and safety & security. 

Specific criteria

The grant and/or loan depends on each country's eligibility criteria (hence the information sessions). Depending on the country and the type of beneficiary (SMEs, large corporations, research institutes, etc.), it varies between 30% and 80% of the eligible costs.

Projects of our strong and lively community contribute to the socio-economic development of the Eureka countries and pave the way for its members to successfully participate in the disruptive 'cyber-physical-metaverse' business opportunity through products, services and standards. Thanks to participation in ITEA, industry can gain a competitive edge by joining the 'melting-pot' of the diverse community with bottom-up topics that perfectly fit their innovation agenda.

Mission

In order to reach the visionary goal we have a dedicated mission:
Software and systems innovations, which are the main focus of ITEA, lie at the heart of the digital transformation and will provide access to e.g. the emerging Cyber-Physical-Metaverse. We provide a dynamic environment that brings together partners from our innovative global community to develop and execute impactful projects around these evolutions. By fostering collaboration, we support our project partners and the Public Authorities to match and transform visionary ideas into groundbreaking products, solutions and services, and to lead in shaping the future of technology.

Key data of the call

• Projects have a total budget of around €4 or €5 million, though some projects reach €10 million or more.
• A typical project involves a consortium of 3 to 5 countries with 3 or 4 partners per country.
• Projects almost always last 3 years.
• This call will open on 15th September 2026 and will close on 2nd November 2026 - 17:00 CET
