The DigiWind Gdańsk Tech Open Call #1 presents an award opportunity for top-performing master's students to accelerate their expertise in the digitalisation of wind and energy systems.
Funding and Awards
- Gdańsk Tech Open Call #1: For students admitted to the first year of study in the winter and summer semesters of the 2025/26 academic year.
- Number of Scholarships: Thirteen (13) scholarships are available under this first call.
- Award type: Merit-based academic excellence scholarship funded through the Digital Europe Programme and the University's Scholarship Fund.
- Financial value: Each selected beneficiary will receive a one-time lump-sum payment of EUR 5,000.
- Currency conversion: The scholarship will be disbursed in Polish Zloty (PLN), calculated based on the average exchange rate of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) on the day of the transfer.

Applicants profile
DigiWind scholarships are available exclusively for students who are already actively enrolled in the M.Sc. in Smart Renewable Energy Engineering programme developed at Gdańsk University of Technology within the DigiWind project framework.
To be considered eligible, candidates must meet the following baseline profiles:
- Academic milestones: Scholarships may be awarded to students after completion of their second semester (for those admitted in the winter semester) or after completion of their first semester (for those admitted in the summer semester).
- Nationality: Eligible candidates must be passport holders from EU Member States, EFTA/EEA countries, or designated Digital Europe Programme (DEP) associated countries (including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine).
- Active academic status: Active student status must be validated through an official GPA transcript for the 2025/26 academic year.
Beyond technical qualifications, the university provides objective accessibility and support to students in difficult financial or health-related situations in accordance with Articles 86 and 95 of the Polish Law on Higher Education and Science. In complete compliance with national legislation (Articles 69(2) and 70(3)), awards are allocated strictly on an objective, merit-based framework.
Evaluation Process
Submission will be conducted EXCLUSIVELY via the F6S platform. A complete list of applicants will be compiled, including basic information for statistical and transparency purposes, which will also be shared with the European Commission.
Applications that pass the administrative eligibility check will undergo an evaluation conducted by a specialised selection Committee officially appointed by the Rector of Gdańsk Tech. The ranking list will be created based on 100% of the GPA from the most recently completed required semester.
In the case of identical GPA scores among candidates, the ranking order within the tie will be determined based on additional academic or scientific achievements (such as participation in research projects, publications, conference presentations, or scientific club activities) provided in the applicant's optional achievements portfolio.
For more information, please refer to the Guidelines for Applicants.
Results Notification
Following the Committee's evaluation, all eligible applicants will be ranked according to their final assessment scores. Scholarships will be awarded based on this order of merit, beginning with the highest-ranked candidates, up to the 13 available slots.
The Committee will present the finalized ranking list after the call to the Rector. The final decision on awarding the scholarship rests with the Rector. Applicants will be notified of the results via email on 16 November 2026, as follows:
- For Accepted Applicants:
- An Evaluation Summary Report
- An invitation to proceed to the scholarship agreement signing phase.
- For Reserved or Rejected Applicants:
- A notification of status for those who passed the eligibility check but fell below the 13-beneficiary cut-off, placing them on the reserve list.
- A formal rejection notice for ineligible applications.
Successful applicants must confirm their acceptance of the formal scholarship offer within five (5) business days of receiving the notification. In the event of resignation or failure to meet the payment conditions, the scholarship offer may be reallocated to the next eligible candidate on the ranking list.
Redress Process
Applicants who are not satisfied with the formal procedure or evaluation of their application may submit a written appeal within three (3) business days of receiving their result. Appeals will be reviewed by a specialised panel in compliance with university protocols and chaired by the designated project authorities.
Appeals are strictly disallowed for disagreements with pure academic judgment or if the decision was based on the applicant's failure to provide mandatory documentation.
Valid grounds for appealing a scholarship decision focus exclusively on administrative errors in the assessment process or explicit procedural non-compliance. All requests for appeal must be sent to the official DigiWind Gdańsk Tech Open Call team at [email protected]
