The UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund

The UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S) is an early stage venture fund, providing patient capital and support for the businesses emerging from the UK’s investment in research and knowledge to enhance health and security, enable clean growth and increase productivity. 

UKI2S backs companies which have the potential to create significant impact alongside a financial return for the Fund. In addition to backing opportunities from a wide range of our partners’ research, UKI2S specialises in engineering biology, defence & security, fusion energy, and the intangible assets of the UK public sector.

UKI2S likes to invest early – at pre-seed or seed- and will follow on at Series A and beyond. UKI2S patiently supports and develops businesses with more than money as they want to create an impact on the global stage from their investments.

UKI2S makes equity and convertible loan investments for a financial return, and their entry cheques are typically between £100k and £500k and they aim to follow-on in subsequent rounds in the best-performing companies, up to £1.5m
