Overview
| The objective is to increase the awareness and recognition of the Union quality scheme on organic production. Information and promotion programmes on the Union quality scheme on the organic production method should be a key priority in the internal market since this scheme provides consumers with assurances on the sustainability, quality and characteristics of the product and the production process used, the environmental benefits they generate, thereby achieving added value for the products concerned and enhancing their market opportunities. One of the expected results is to further increase the levels of recognition of the EU organic logo by Union consumers and to increase the knowledge of the information the organic logo aims to provide. According to Special Eurobarometer 556, more than half (56%, minus 5 percentage points since 2022) of Union consumers say they are aware of the organic farming logo. The expected ultimate impact is to increase awareness of the Union quality scheme on organic production and to enhance the competitiveness and consumption of organic products, raise their profile and increase their market share. |
