Cowboy Ventures is a Bay Area-based seed-stage focused fund. The firm has closed on two new funds totaling $260 million in capital commitments. The outfit garnered $140 million in commitments for its fourth flagship fund and another $120 million for its first opportunity-type fund (its “Mustang Fund”).

Cowboy Ventures seeks to back exceptional founders who are building products that “re-imagine” work and personal life in large and growing markets. They're based in Palo Alto, CA, and invest across the United States.

Cowboy Ventures invests in the US, and in software-oriented companies. Their sweet spot is co-leading or leading seed rounds (usually a round of $1-5m).

Cowboy Ventures invests in enterprise and consumer-oriented software-driven companies. They have team members with specialties in areas including fintech, software infrastructure, vertical SaaS, healthcare, future of work, and digitally-powered new consumer brands.
