Overview

Since 1989, IK has raised more than €14 billion of capital and invested in over 170 European companies. IK supports companies with strong underlying potential, partnering with management teams and investors to create robust, well-positioned businesses with excellent long-term prospects.

They invest between €10m - €300m of equity in companies typically valued between €25m - €1bn+, across four complementary strategies and sectors:

-Mid cap: Mid Cap funds were launched in 1989 and seek to invest in established mid-market businesses, typically valued from €150 million to over €1 billion, via majority control buyouts. They have raised nine Mid Cap funds to date and are currently investing from the IK IX Fund, a 2020 vintage with €2.85 billion in commitments.

- Small cap: Small Cap funds were launched in 2016 and seek to invest in businesses at the lower end of the mid-market, typically valued up to €150 million, via majority or minority control buyouts. They have raised three Small Cap funds to date and are currently investing from the IK SC III Fund, a 2021 vintage with €1.2 billion in committments.

- Development capital: Development Capital strategy was launched in 2021 and targets growing businesses, typically valued up to €50 million. This strategy currently has dedicated funds of €300 million in committments.

- Partnership fund: Partnership Fund strategy was launched in 2019 and targets more established businesses at the higher end of the mid-market, typically valued at €200 million or above, via minority partnership investments. They have raised one Partnership Fund to date, a 2021 vintage with over €300 million in commitments.

The sourcing and construction of their portfolio is based on a systematic, in-depth approach focused around four key sectors: business services, healthcare, consumer, industrials.
