Primo Ventures is an Italian-based firm focused on early-stage technology venture capital founded by a team with significant digital experience and entrepreneurial background. They invest in two sectors: digital and space.

Primo Digital Fund

Primo Digital is an investment fund (in the form of an Italian reserved AIF), managed by Primo Ventures SGR S.p.A. In line with Primo Ventures' commitment, it is a native ESG fund in all activities concerning the investment process, support and monitoring of its portfolio companies.

Primo Digital selects and invests in early stage tech venture startups in the digital markets, with a focus on B2B software, retail & marketplaces, cybersecurity and financial innovation.

They look for founding teams who are able to face challenges in competitive markets and build companies that scale up rapidly.

They focus on Italian startups, but they can invest across Europe, in the USA, in Canada, and in Israel.

Primo Digital includes two parallel funds fully subscribed by CDP Venture Capital: Parallel Italia, which systematically co-invests in companies established in Italy, and Parallel Italia Sud, which co-invests in startups established in Southern Italy.

Primo Space Fund

Primo Space Fund is a seed and early stage venture capital fund focused on skyrocketing the potential of space tech projects developed by brilliant teams.

Primo Space is the first Italian venture capital fund, one of the few in the world, specializing in the space tech industry. They launched in July 2020 with a first closing of 58 million euros and we completed the final closing at approximately 86 million euros in February 2022.

Their aim is to invest in those solutions constituting the space infrastructure, the ground applications enabled by space technologies and those technologies enabling the space industry as a whole. Check out their space investment topics here.

They focus on seed and early stage projects, and the investment can vary starting from smaller tickets in low-TRL startups up to 5 million euros in a single company. They're rather fond of Italian companies but we also invest in startups based in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Israel, and the United States.

Primo Space Fund's investment team is supported by the E. Amaldi Foundation for what concerns the projects’ technical assessment and technological due diligence: the Foundation has been active for years in the New Space Economy through innovation and technology transfer in the space sector.
