Second Call for Pilots Work Strand 3 - New Advanced AI-Based Tools to the LDTs Toolbox

Submission timeline & Instructions

A second open call will be launched on 2 February 2026 which will target Work Strand 1, 2 and 3 (WS1, WS2 and WS3), and close on 2 April 2026. The EU contribution for WS3 under the second call amounts to €2.9 million, to be allocated across approximately 3 to 4 selected consortia.

The full application package (written in English) must be submitted via [email protected] before the specified deadline. The application must be filled in using the predefined templates provided on the LDT4SSC project’s website (https://ldt4ssc.eu/opencalls/ ).

All the documents must be uploaded in PDF format, except the financial form, which must remain in Excel format (.xlsx).

Evaluation

After the application deadline, the review of the pilot proposals will take two months. This period includes both the eligibility pre-screening and the evaluation conducted by the Evaluation Committee and the Ethical Board.

Following the selection of the successful pilots, the negotiation phase will last one month, followed by an additional one-month preparation period prior to project launch. During the negotiation phase, applicants may receive recommendations or requests from the Evaluation Committee and the Ethical Board that could require adjustments to the pilot’s approach, processes, or consortium composition. This phase serves as an opportunity for applicants to receive and address feedback.

Each pilot is expected to run for 12 to 18 months from its official start date.
