Overview

The roughly 15 seed-stage companies selected will go through an eight-week programme to learn the basics of company building from other founders and operators. They will also receive a $1m investment from Sequoia.

Applicants willing to prepare for a meeting with Sequoia should create a compelling deck that will help them understand the idea. (Feel free to follow their advice.) Sequoia looks for two things: 1) a unique insight about an important problem in a big market, and 2) the right team to tackle it.

Hunger is a longstanding part of their ethos. They do not look for pedigree, but for people who inspire them to dream and who have a creative, even defiant, solution to a real problem.
