Overview

ERA is not a direct funding instrument. Projects are funded in a de-centralised manner through the funding agencies of the member countries. Depending on country, entity and type of activities. Usually around 50% for SMEs, 100% for research institutions.

Project consortia must consist of at least three eligible applicants from at least two participating countries who must be in the consortium. Companies, research organisations, universities and higher education institutions, industry organisations, local/regional governments and NGOs are eligible.

The application process will be a 2-step procedure: Pre-Proposal that is evaluated by the member countries and Full-Proposal evaluated by ERA evaluators
